I started to make cut paper since middle school. I began with drawing patterns on small pieces of paper, maybe 2” by 3”, and soon it became an essential way for me to express feeling and burst pressure.

I don’t plan for what I’m drawing, I simply follow the pattern to where it leads me. I make a series of them after a while, then wanted to use different material with the pattern. The irregular form gives me more freedom to make decisions. Being able to touch the work by hand, having the tactile nature of paper and seeing all the texture is the most attractive part of all. It brings me to cut paper’s world.
